Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Tax Preparer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tax preparation, excellent analytical skills, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards.
Responsibilities
+ Prepare tax returns for individuals and small businesses, including federal and state filings, under the review of an in-house CPA.
+ Support clients by requesting and organizing relevant financial documents.
+ Analyze IRS transcripts to identify compliance concerns.
+ Collaborate with sales and resolution teams to assist with client needs.
Essential Skills
+ Active registration with CTEC.
+ At least two years of experience in tax preparation.
+ Skilled in using tax preparation software such as Lacerte, ProSeries, and ProSystems.
+ Possession of a valid Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN).
+ Experience handling Schedules C and E, investment reporting, and state tax filings.
+ Strong knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and compliance standards.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
+ Dedication to maintaining confidentiality and upholding ethical standards.
+ Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
+ Exceptional attention to detail.
+ Eagerness to learn and adapt.
+ Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Associate's degree in Accounting or a related field.
+ Enrolled Agent certification.
+ Experience preparing business and multi-state tax filings.
+ Familiarity with tax resolution procedures and compliance guidelines.
+ Prior experience working with IRS and state tax agencies.
Work Environment
This position is based in a corporate office, featuring low cubicles. The office hours are from 8 AM to 5 PM, with flexibility for an earlier start once settled into the role (7 AM to 4 PM).
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $62400.00/yr.
