The Neonatal Hearing Screener provides hearing screenings to all newborns (well baby and critical care units) at the Mount Sinai Hospital in accordance with New York State Law.
Responsibilities1. Operates and maintains two types of sophisticated automated test equipment for conducting the hearing screenings.
2. Conveys test results to the parents.
3. If necessary, provides the parents with the necessary documentation and information to access the follow up.
4. Requires handling and comforting infants (testing needs to be done with the infant as still as possible).
5. Ability to handle critically ill and premature infants.
6. Must adhere to infection control standards.
7. Maintain extensive and meticulous records in the medical charts.
8. Tracks inventory of disposable supplies that are used for the screenings.
9. Troubleshooting of test equipment.
10. Must have the ability to work independently.
11. Works closely with the supervising audiologist.
12. Performs other duties as required

Compensation
The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $16.5 - $16.5 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
