Non-automotive manufacturer is hiring a Controller to lead a team of administrative professionals.  As the Controller you will have four direct reports.  You will report to the President of the company, who you will work closely with.  This role includes both hands-on and strategic responsibilities.  Daily tasks will include, but not be limited to:

• Lead, motivate and coach a team of direct reports
• Coordinate all reporting and consolidation of the financials
• Manage the day-to-day accounting functions, including strategic planning and hands-on analysis  
• Maintain and improve accounting policies, procedures and KPIs
• Prepare requested financial reports in company ERP system and MS Excel
• Complete and finalize all activities for monthly, quarterly and year-end closing of books, including P&L, G/L review, journal entry review and posting, and consolidation of financials and analysis
• Improve accounting processes
• Plan and analyze budgets and financials
• Supply the leadership team with accurate and timely financial data
• Partner with managers to supply timely accounting data 
• Prepare and present accurate accounting data 
• Work with managers to prepare their annual budgets 
• Monitor and create standard cost of current and new products 
• Evaluate capital expenditures and ROI 
• Oversee and complete special accounting projects based on requests from management 
• Complete other tasks as requested by management

Candidates should be willing to be hands on as needed, have strong analytical skills, excellent problem solving skills, be able to build rapport with the hourly workforce and the management team and enjoy working within a team-oriented environment.  The right person will enjoy strategic planning and be willing to be hands-on with day-to-day accounting functions.  Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401K, life, STD, paid holidays, vacation and annual bonus potential.  

Requirements for the Controller:
1. Bachelor’s degree, ideally in Finance or Accounting 
2. At least 3-5 years in a similar lead accounting position, as a Sr. Accountant, Accounting Manager, Controller, etc. 

3. Experience leading accounting initiatives in manufacturing environments 
4. Experience working with ERP systems 

5. Experience with month-end and year-end closing processes

6. Experience establishing standard cost

7. Experience supervising others 

8. Microsoft Office, including strong MS Excel skills 

Skills that are preferred, BUT NOT required:
1. Master's degree
2. Budgeting experience 

3. Paycor payroll experience
