Head Grower

Location: Bellmawr, NJ
Compensation: $65,000 - $75,000

The Role:

Brightroot is seeking an experienced Head Grower to lead cannabis cultivation operations in New Jersey. The Head Grower will oversee all aspects of plant production, from propagation through harvest, with a strong emphasis on compliance, quality, and efficiency. This role requires proven expertise in large-scale cultivation, strong leadership skills, and the ability to implement best practices that align with state regulations and organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and manage all cultivation operations, including propagation, flowering, and harvest activities.
• Monitor plant health, nutrition, and environmental systems to optimize yield, potency, and consistency.
• Implement and oversee integrated pest management (IPM) practices in compliance with New Jersey CRC regulations.
• Maintain accurate cultivation records and ensure compliance tracking through BioTrack or other seed-to-sale platforms.
• Supervise, train, and mentor cultivation staff to ensure adherence to SOPs and high operational standards.
• Manage cultivation budgets, supply inventory, and vendor relationships.
• Drive continuous improvement through evaluation of new genetics, cultivation methods, and technology solutions.
  
   

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of cannabis cultivation experience, including at least 2 years in a management or head grower position.
• Direct experience in large-scale indoor cannabis production.
• Proficiency with BioTrack or equivalent seed-to-sale software.
• In-depth knowledge of cannabis plant biology, horticulture techniques, and environmental controls.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills with a track record of managing teams effectively.
• Must be at least 21 years of age and eligible to obtain/maintain a New Jersey cannabis license.
• Degree in horticulture, plant science, or related discipline preferred.
  
   

Working Conditions

• Fast-paced cultivation environment with exposure to cannabis plant material, bright grow lighting, and variable temperatures/humidity.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds for extended periods.
• Minimal travel; occasional trips for training or business purposes.
