Job Description

Position: Mid-Level Environmental & Land Use Litigation Associate (Seattle, WA)
Experience Level: Mid-Level (2-6 years)

Direct Counsel is currently seeking a Mid-Level Associate with a strong background in environmental, land use, and natural resources litigation for an excellent opportunity with a highly-regarded Seattle-based law firm. This position is ideal for an attorney looking to advance in a collaborative and dynamic litigation environment, working with both longstanding regional and national clients across the firm's offices.

About the Role: In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to grow as an environmental litigation attorney, handling a variety of cases in areas such as environmental and natural resource litigation, regulatory compliance, water rights, and agency permitting. The firm’s nationally recognized litigation team consists of over 40 attorneys committed to client-centered service and innovative legal advocacy.

Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in state and federal environmental and natural resources litigation
  • Manage discovery processes and make court appearances
  • Provide counsel on compliance, administrative, and enforcement matters
  • Collaborate across offices with attorneys and staff in a supportive, inclusive environment

Qualifications:

  • JD from an ABA-accredited law school; licensed to practice law
  • 2-6 years of experience in environmental and land use litigation
  • Demonstrated experience in making court appearances and managing discovery
  • Strong academic credentials, analytical abilities, and excellent writing skills
  • A client-focused approach and effective communication skills
  • Ability to handle substantial individual responsibilities

Compensation:
Annualized salary range: $170,000 to $190,000
Actual pay will be based on experience, location, and other permitted factors.
